John Grady Portfolio

Business owner for the past 15 years. I own and operate Area 66 and Rocket Burger at Area 66 in Yucca, Arizona.

After working in film, TV, and theater in my twenties, I went back to school and completed a double major in Psychology and Anthropology at UCLA, then went on to complete a Master of Science in Public Health.

I worked at UCLA in various labs as a research associate and lab manger. But I needed a change and moved to Las Vegas.

I started a business in Yucca, Arizona on the site of a a unique structure that resembles a gigantic golf ball. It is a 40 foot diameter geodesic sphere elevated off the ground by a single pole. It is the only structure of its kind in the entire world.

I named it Area 66 and turned it into a UFO/Government black box museum depicting the events of a UFO crash outside of Kingman, AZ on May 20, 1953. The museum displays documents, pictures, and artifacts associated with the crash and subsequent recovery.

I’ve also built and programmed an animatronic show to support the museum and items on display.

I opened a diner and a convenience store on the property that serves tourists and locals. The diner, Rocket Burger at Area 66, is a retro-inspired setting where guests can eat delicious burger and sip milkshake while they watch new and classic sci-fi movies on a big screen.
